Hi everybody, i am Marc from Sweden sorry i cannot write and understand netherlands so i write in english
I have a yellow cheeked amazon, he has a open ring of aluminium alloy. What i can read on the ring is this:
NL 3K34 298
My question is if there is any chance to search for the breeder in Holland or does anyone know what the numbers and letters means?
Help would really be appreciated!
Best regards
Marc Holm

What I do understand from the ringnumber, is that it probably is a sexring. The number 3K34 should be the vet's number? However I don't know where to find a listing. But, I could be wrong.
Not much help, Maybe someone else?
Greetings Peter
NL-versie:

I think it is not a Dutch official ring, otherwise there should be the letters NB, AB or PS on the ring. Those are the codes of the Dutch bird associations.

It indeed sounds like a sexing ring, put there by a Vet. The middle code is the Vet's number, but as said before it's almost impossible to track it.
The last number is then the birds number. In case of a loss of sexing papers you could get a reprint with this number from the vet (with as minor detail that you have to know the vet).

Thank you all for your help, I read about sexring and as you guys say it is put on by a veteranary. So it will be a mystery and very hard to trace. Question is now is it possible for a vet to determine a parrots age?
Ruben:
Yes itś too cold to keep parrots outside this time of year i guess. I don´t breed parrots and i live in a apartment with my bird. Breeders and birdkeepers here usually make one room for the bird (big parrots)or if they live in a house they have big voliares outside connected to the house so they can fly inside if itś getting too cold.
Sorry my english sucks

mabey stupid question, but i'm curius why you try to trace the breeder of your parrot, is there a special reason for it? if i undertand well your'e not a breeder by yourself.
second question i aske myself, why did you not ask the information from the person where you get the bird from?
he must know where the bird came from.
how do you become this parrot?
I'm sorry i can't help you on youré way to find the breeder.
Ofcourse i whis you all the best in your way to find the "roots"of your bird. Good luck and the best whisses to fix the job.
and like all the persons befor me: my English is also bad too.

My English is reasonably good after living here for almost 40 years. Between you, you are doing a pretty good job I must say.
